The Role

Reporting to the IT & Client Support Manager this position has two focus points, an internal one and an external one. As an IT & Client Support Engineer you will plan and maintain the organisation’s technical infrastructure, as well as solving individual employee’s technical issues. You will also serve our clients by providing product information and resolving technical issues related to inhouse and 3rd party products

Some of your responsibilities will include:

Developing, implementing, delivering, and providing support for library systems using WordPress or any other CMS, etc.
Working with clients/users to identify technical problems and advising on a solution in a timely fashion
Keeping up to date with emerging technologies and industry best practices in order to provide adequate support to our clients
Maintaining documentation of technical support activities, including updating technical manual and user guides
Renewing all licenses as required for the company website and applications (emails, hosting etc.)
Installing and configurating the company’s computer hardware operating systems and software applications
Collaborating with marketing and other departments to create user interface designs and prototypes using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript

Minimum Job Requirements

Fluent in English
Strong problem-solving and communication skills
Strong customer service ethos
At least three years of experience providing internal IT support
Experience as a WordPress Developer and in-depth knowledge of front-end technologies including CSS3, JavaScript, HTML5, and jQuery
Knowledge of Windows and Mac OS environments and productivity software
Up-to-date knowledge of the latest IT and software trends
Ability to analyse and resolve problems while maximising efficient use of resources

Desired Extras

University degree in relevant field
Experience of successfully carrying out trainings, and developing training material, especially videos and interactive guides
Experience of working in the research and education domain specially with university library support, including authentication and discovery services
