PAL Aerospace Engineering is currently seeking qualified applications for an Avionics Engineer located in our United Arab Emirates (UAE), Abu Dhabi office. The successful candidate will collaborate remotely with PAL Aerospace Engineering in Canada on various engineering projects and programs, while also supporting engineering programs in the UAE.
Duties and Responsibilities:

Project management support including scheduling, budgeting, and deliverable tracking
Interfacing with customers, equipment suppliers, TCCA/FAA/EASA/GCAA and subcontractors as per the project requirements
Perform on-site installation surveys as required (reference Survey Engineer requirements
Licenced aircraft maintenance engineer and/or experienced aerospace engineer.
Familiarity with both avionics and structural installations related to ADS-B Transponder systems including:
Antenna mounting and doublers
Component installation
Cockpit instrument panel/console modifications
Wire routing
Avionics interfaces such as GPS, ADC, TCAS/ATC, WOW, RF (coax), Cockpit Lighting
Familiarity with Civil certified aircraft such as Part 23/25 turbo prop fixed wing and 27/29 rotorcraft.
Understanding of aircraft design and certification principles.
Understanding of aircraft and industry standard practices – AMM Chapter 20, SWPM, AC43.13, etc.
Able to search and interpret aircraft manuals such as AMM, SRM, IPC, WDM, ELA, AFM and W&B.
Experience with scheduling, customer liaison, technical writing and design drafting.
Effectively communicate with on-site installation team during modification
Manage Engineering design changes during installation
Participate in and witness Flight/Ground/EMI testing
Prepare compliance reports and records from modification and conceptualization to final approval in areas such as:
airworthiness approval documentation
design models and engineering drawings
ground and flight test plans, analysis, and reports
instructions for continued airworthiness
flight manual supplements and service bulletins
airworthiness compliance and engineering analysis reports in area of avionics
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years’ experience in a technical role supporting aircraft avionics systems
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus in Aerospace engineering, or relevant education and experience
Knowledge of TCCA/FAA/EASA/GCAA regulatory requirements and airworthiness regulations is preferred
Project management skills is considered an asset
Extensive knowledge and experience in civil avionics and electrical systems is preferred
Knowledge and direct experience in Design Approval Organization (DAO) activities is preferred
Knowledge and experience with Functional Hazard Assessments, Systems Safety, Failure Modes and Effects Analysis is considered an asset
Knowledge and experience with environmental qualifications such as DO-160 would be considered an asset
Proficient with use of electrical drafting in AutoCAD
Experience with Solid Works 3D modelling would be considered an asset
Experience with aircraft maintenance procedures such as AMM, WDM, IPC, scheduled maintenance, test procedures, test equipment, safety practices, etc.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
Excellent organization and time management skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Focus on teamwork and collaboration
