Network & Security Analyst Required in Dubai

The role of the Network & Security Analyst is to assist the Network Engineer in handling, installing, configuring, and monitoring network devices and services (e.g., firewall, switches, routers, load balancers, VPN, etc.) to ensure IFZA’s network security. In addition to this, the Network & Security Analyst will bring experience from the information / cyber security field. They will work alongside current IT security personnel to implement security systems that protect IFZA computer networks from cyber-attacks and help set and maintain security standards.

Responsibilities

Installing, configuring, and supporting network equipment including, but not limited to, routers, PABX, proxy servers, switches, wireless access points, VLAN, WAN, firewalls, DNS and DHCP, and Cloud network
Identifying, diagnosing, and resolving network problems
Configuring firewalls, routing, and switching to maximize network efficiency and security
Determining methods and procedures to be implemented and used on the most complex new technologies to enhance performance
Troubleshooting and problem solving of structured cabling systems
Responsible for ongoing support and maintenance of wired and wireless networks
Acting as a point of escalation on the service desk in regard to supporting L2-3 incidents
Monitoring network performance and ensuring system availability and reliability
Arranging scheduled upgrades, and updating network equipment to the latest firmware releases
Working within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the network infrastructure
Liaising with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution
Monitoring computer networks for security issues
Investigating security breaches and other cybersecurity incidents
Documenting security breaches and assessing the damage they cause
Working with the IT Security to perform tests and uncover network vulnerabilities
Fixing detected vulnerabilities to maintain a high-security standard
Staying current on IT security trends and news
Developing and reviewing information security policies and procedures according to the industry best practices and relevant standard requirements
Assisting IT team to develop company-wide best practices for IT security
Performing penetration testing
Helping colleagues install security software and understanding information security management
Gathering feedback from end-users to continue improving systems
Performing other job-related duties as assigned by Management

Qualifications

Tertiary education in Computer Science, Engineering, or other relevant subjects OR equivalent in industry experience
4-5 years’ experience
Proven experience as a Network / Network Security Engineer or similar
Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or equivalent is a plus
Experience with IT Ticketing system (Jira experience a plus)
Full English proficiency is required
Additional spoken languages are a plus
Advanced computer literacy is required e.g., MS Office
Proficiency in relevant information technologies and systems
Working knowledge of CRM systems
ITIL V3/V4 or has a clear understanding of Incident, Request, Problem and Change management
Knowledge of cloud security and experience in cloud security testing
Ability to identify and mitigate network vulnerabilities
Experience with cable pulling & Fortinet firewall a plus
Hands-on experience with monitoring, network diagnostic, and network analytics tools
Deep understanding of networking protocols e.g., IPSEC, HSRP, BGP, OSPF, 802.11, QoS
Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong customer service and telephone etiquette
Ability to interact confidently with others to explain problems and establish solutions that address their needs
Ability to work collaboratively with other IT personnel to resolve user issues
Ability to develop good working relationships with colleagues at all levels
Strong listening and questioning skills to ensure best practices and best solutions are established
Prior experience working in a multinational organization
