Our client is a global company currently operating in multiple countries worldwide.

Reporting to the CIO, IT Director is responsible for digitally transforming the organisation across several work streams – with a core focus on leading the technical migration from legacy systems and aligning the regional operations with the global level. The role will provide strategic direction of all technology and infrastructure functions, while conforming with applicable laws and regulations. Responsible to oversee the operations spectrum of the key businesses, including management reporting, budgetary planning and control, people development, business partnering and vendor management. This role is also expected to motivate enhancements in business performance, spearhead initiatives for digital transformation, and be involved in strategic and scalable business development planning of the business.

Ideal Profile

We are looking for a customer-oriented IT executive with a strong previous experience with any industry related to retail, eCommerce, or any other CPG type of company. Experience in digital transformation and project management is mandatory.

Job Descriptions

Explore future technology needs for business, by balancing technology innovation, industry trends, and the business’s customer and associate facing solution needs.
Lead the efforts to stay current on the technology stack and platforms.
Coordinate multiple digital transformation and system implementation large-scale projects (POS, ERP, BI) from inception to completion ensuring optimal utilization of resources
Manage projects and IT initiatives pertaining to IT infrastructure and ensure they are within project parameters.
Oversee all IT Infrastructure-related purchasing and budget usage
Maintain and optimize Data center operations both in the cloud and hosted data centers.
Maintain Incident Management controls of Cloud and Data Center
Vendor Management & Coordination - OEMs and system integrators
Identify areas for internal improvement and develop plans for implementation.
Ensure that the infrastructure is adequately secured and to that objective carry out regular vulnerability and risk management exercise to review the systems and process and propose changes in the same, so as reduce exposure to downtime risks.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science related field or equivalent work experience; master’s degree preferred
Minimum ten years’ experience managing an IT division in a medium-or large-size retail company; eCommerce experience preferred
Proven experience with large scale digital transformation project management
Proven experience as IT or Technology Senior Manager or similar role
Excellent knowledge of local UAE laws and regulations relevant to business
An analytical mind with a strategic ability
Excellent organizational and leadership skills
Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
