Information Technology System Administrator Required in Dubai

Job Purpose: Oversee and provide support on server management, data storage & backup. Provide technical support for any hardware or software complaints for end users. Respond to issues on troubleshooting outages and ensure security features like firewalls are installed for users as part of desktop usage. Monitor system performance and provide recommendation on approaching shortcomings.

Key Accountabilities

Server Management: Effectively manage system and server uptime, availability, reliability and security. Ensure optimal utilisation for effective server systems integrity. Coordinate with troubleshooting on technical issues as and when required. Manage SQL server administration and ensure entirety and smoothness of workings.
Data Backup and management: Manage data back up and authenticity to make sure accuracy is maintained and data is secure. Assist in research and design to better existing data management practices. Ensure entirety of data is maintained and no data is lost and is recovered in adversity.
Storage Management and security: Ensure data storage and managing database security, roles and profiles. Maintain adequate database environments and monitor performance and capacity planning. Engage in maintaining adequate space management to optimize data storage at all times. Provide support for firewall and security related practices to make sure that there are no breaches or viruses. Assist in risk mitigation and manage offsite backup and tape rotation.
System performance: Maintain strong working relationship with vendors, technical team and consultants to ensure that appropriate timely support is extended for fixing malfunction and enhancement requirements. Ensure timely installations, upgrades, space management and performance tuning. Adequate reporting on system performance and propose recommendations to improve efficiency. Conduct system maintenance exercise as and when required and troubleshoot on technical issues.
Project Management: Serve as project team member in coordination with the line manager on enhancement related projects to complete them efficiently and with cost-effectiveness. Ensure objectives are met in time and standard quality results are delivered. Job Specific Information
System Administrator will work closely with line manager to ensure smooth functioning of system performance, security and entirety of data.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering / Science. Experience
5 – 7 years of minimum experience in Information Technology; out of which minimum 2 years’ experience in Database Management System / support.
Microsoft Active Directory. (2008 Onwards)
Microsoft Exchange On-Premise. (2010 Onwards)
NetApp Storages, Brocade SAN Switches
VMware Enterprise deployments
NetBackup appliances and Robotic Tape Library
HPE Synergy Frames. HP/IBM Servers
Working knowledge on Solaris / Linux and Oracle Hardware
Microsoft DBA (SQL and Other DBs) experience for Log files and Backup management
Enterprise file sharing and file sync automations
System Cloning (Windows, Solaris & Linux) & hands on experience in storage setup & creation of new VM machines.
