Head of Technology Required in Dubai
Job Purpose:

Contribute to the formulation of the Transformation and Technology Strategic Plan,
Refine Data Platforms Strategy, and Deliver on transactional and analytics Data initiatives,
Reinforce the Integration Platform ecosystem, towards an API-driven organization,
Refine GIG Gulf Cloud Strategy, and contribute to applications modernization,
Refine, design, and implement architectural and technology standards and guidelines.
Department Overview:
Under the Chief Transformation & Technology leadership, the Technology Office takes charge of IT Architecture, Data Platforms, Cloud, and APIs.
The Enterprise, Platform, Data, and Cloud Architects take charge of scoping and designing long term innovative and resilient solutions aligned with the Architecture Framework and the T&T Strategic Plan. The Solutions impact P&C and EB business lines, for Personal, SMEs, and Commercial Lines; and include Policy and Claims Administration, Marketing, BI, Digital, CRM, MDM, Finance, etc.
The Data Platforms team is responsible for the design, operations, and maintenance of Data Platforms such as the MDM, EB Business Intelligence, as well as the design and delivery of platforms such as AWS Data Lake.
The Cloud team is responsible of GIG Gulf applications modernization with Cloud, aligned with Business Transformation initiatives, liaising with local Cloud Service Providers for guidance and implementation.
The Integration and API team leads the journey towards an API-driven company, designing and delivering on integration patterns, with a focus on performance and resiliency.
Strategic Accountability:
In collaboration with GIG Gulf business and Transformation and Technology stakeholders, and considering the information system landscape, best practices, company ambitions, technology evolutions, and market trends, manage team members including senior and experts to:
Contribute to the formulation of the Transformation and Technology Strategic Plan,
Derive and steer the Technology Office vision and goals, aligned with GIG Gulf business ambitions
Define and maintain the vision, goals, and roadmap for API, Cloud, and Data Platforms,
Participate to GIG Gulf platforms strategy, including applications, technology, and partners’ selection, as well as implementation strategy.
Contribute with the rest of Executive Leadership members in the Transformation and Technology governance and targets execution
Operational & technical responsibilities
1. Drive IT Architecture activities:
Refine the IT Architecture frameworks, guidelines and design patterns,
Review the integration framework towards functional-servicing and/or data streaming,
Define and communicate the design and architectural guidelines for IT solutions and applications selection,
Ensure consistency and promote reusability across the IT landscape,
Work closely with information security, Data Privacy, and other departments to embed their guidelines into architecture principles,
Review and strengthen the Data, Applications and Infrastructure Architecture across the Information System;
2. Drive Data Platforms delivery and continuous improvement activities:
Review and improve on Customer Data reliability and robustness,
Automate and maintain the delivery on complex’s reporting integrations,
Develop and maintain Data Quality dashboards,
Implement and secure transactional data ingestion into the Data Lake,
Maintain data reconciliation between transactional and analytical platforms;
3. Drive applications modernization with the Cloud:
Define Cloud architecture at all layers: services, applications, network, etc.,
Define applications modernization roadmap, in collaboration and aligned with Transformation and Technology initiatives,
Drive GIG Gulf applications portfolio cloud modernization activities,
Influence throughout the company for a culture shift towards a mindset of innovation;
4. Contribute to the relevant IT projects providing support and correct analysis to:
Key architectural decisions providing clear recommendations aligned with the strategy and business requirements,
Software Selection processes,
Solution architecture definition when applicable with special focus on cost optimization and integration: user interface, services and data,
Transformation & Technology enablement through key IT enablers such as Portals, Enterprise Content Management, Identity and Access Management, Mobility, Enterprise Integration Platforms, Service Enablement, Business Process Management, Customer Relationship Management, 360º Customer View, etc.,
Align with Transformation & Technology Strategy reflected into the Target Architecture,
Align with Standards and Methodologies, looking proactively for reusing existing assets from the IT Solutions Catalog while satisfying business requirements;
Acquire and maintain a deep knowledge of the IT applications and project portfolio looking proactively for simplification and sharing options while providing the day to day support to the relevant projects, involving when needed transversal architects.
5. Foster Innovation through a strong collaboration with all company’s departments, including deliveries e.g. CICD and automation, Teleconsultation Middleware, Automated Data Collection from documents, etc.
People Responsibilities
Define the team sourcing strategy with regards to job descriptions and budget;
In collaboration with GIG Gulf HR team, manage the recruitment and onboarding processes, anticipating on turnovers;
Define and review team member including senior staff goals settings and follow-up on their attainment;
Ensure team member growth through training, coaching and mentorship when needed;
Animate the architecture guild throughout the CTTO departments;
Manage the team capacity and performance;
Maintain collaboration within CTTO and through GIG Gulf departments, ensuring that the team embodies GIG values and commitments.

Minimum Requirements:
Master’s Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems
Total 10+ years of experience
Five years of experience in Architecture and Technology areas
Relevant similar experience
Ability to attract, select and motivate talents
Strong understanding of IT technology, Data Platform, and Cloud concepts
Ability to influence strategic decisions through conviction and promotion
Strong leadership with a proven ability to communicate to senior executives while leading projects on the field
Excellent English writing, editing and communication skills
Strong knowledge in EAI, SOA, Web, CRM, Document management, BI, ETL, EIP, Data bases, Big Data, …
Desirable:
Two years of similar experience
Project management skills deploying IT solutions implementations
Strong understanding of software architectures, development tools, etc.
True team player who can break the silos with tact and diplomacy
Understanding of regulatory challenges, including compliance, data privacy and residency
