We are looking for a reliable, responsible, and customer-focused Delivery Driver to safely and efficiently transport goods, products, documents, equipment, or customer orders between company locations, warehouses, suppliers, and customer destinations. The role is responsible for completing deliveries accurately and on time, maintaining proper delivery documentation, handling goods carefully, and providing professional customer service.The successful candidate will follow assigned routes, operate company or approved vehicles safely, verify orders and delivery information, manage proof of delivery documentation, report delays or issues, and ensure vehicles and delivery equipment remain clean, safe, and properly maintained.Key Responsibilities
Safely operate company vehicles or approved delivery vehicles to transport goods, products, documents, equipment, or customer orders.
Complete deliveries and collections according to assigned schedules, routes, priorities, and customer requirements.
Plan and follow efficient delivery routes using GPS, navigation systems, delivery applications, or route-planning tools.
Verify delivery addresses, customer details, order numbers, quantities, delivery instructions, and special requirements before departure.
Collect goods from warehouses, stores, suppliers, distribution centres, or other designated locations.
Check goods and packages for correct quantities, visible damage, packaging condition, and delivery accuracy before loading.
Load, arrange, secure, transport, and unload goods safely to prevent damage, loss, contamination, or incorrect delivery.
Obtain proof of delivery through signatures, photographs, digital confirmation, receipts, or electronic delivery systems.
Maintain accurate records of deliveries, collections, mileage, fuel usage, delivery times, customer acknowledgements, and other required information.
Communicate professionally with customers and provide updates regarding delivery schedules, arrival times, delays, or changes.
Handle customer questions, delivery concerns, missing items, damaged goods, failed deliveries, and other issues appropriately.
Report delivery delays, incorrect addresses, traffic incidents, vehicle breakdowns, accidents, damaged goods, or unsuccessful deliveries to the appropriate supervisor.
Process cash-on-delivery payments, receipts, invoices, or other approved payment collections where applicable.
Ensure collected payments and documents are securely handled and submitted according to company procedures.
Assist with returns, exchanges, rejected deliveries, reverse logistics, and collection of reusable packaging when required.
Ensure all delivery documents, invoices, receipts, and customer records are properly completed and returned.
Maintain the cleanliness, organisation, and professional appearance of the assigned vehicle.
Conduct basic vehicle inspections before and after shifts, including tyres, brakes, lights, fluids, fuel, safety equipment, and general condition.
Report vehicle maintenance requirements, defects, accidents, or safety concerns immediately.
Follow all applicable traffic laws, road safety requirements, company driving policies, and vehicle operating procedures.
Handle fragile, sensitive, high-value, temperature-controlled, or time-critical goods according to specific company procedures where applicable.
Maintain confidentiality regarding customer information, addresses, orders, company documents, and business operations.
Support warehouse, dispatch, loading, packing, or inventory activities during periods when delivery duties are reduced or additional operational support is required.
Coordinate with Warehouse, Logistics, Customer Service, Sales, Procurement, and Operations teams to ensure smooth delivery operations.
Complete urgent, priority, VIP, bulk, or special deliveries according to assigned requirements.
Monitor fuel consumption, mileage, tolls, parking costs, and other vehicle-related expenses where required.
Maintain professional behaviour, appearance, punctuality, and communication when representing the company.
Follow company procedures for accidents, emergencies, security incidents, lost goods, customer disputes, and other unexpected situations.
Identify opportunities to improve delivery routes, turnaround times, customer service, vehicle utilisation, and operational efficiency.
Requirements
Valid and appropriate driving licence for the vehicle type operated.
Previous experience as a Delivery Driver, Courier Driver, Van Driver, Logistics Driver, Distribution Driver, or similar role is preferred.
Safe and responsible driving record with good knowledge of local roads, routes, traffic regulations, and navigation.
Familiarity with GPS, navigation applications, delivery platforms, route-planning systems, and mobile devices.
Strong punctuality, reliability, time management, and ability to meet delivery schedules.
Good physical ability to load, unload, carry, and move packages or goods when required.
Strong attention to detail when checking orders, addresses, quantities, documents, and delivery instructions.
Good customer service and communication skills with a professional and polite manner.
Ability to work independently while coordinating effectively with warehouse, logistics, customer service, and operations teams.
Basic understanding of vehicle maintenance, safety checks, and common vehicle issues.
Ability to complete delivery records, proof of delivery, invoices, receipts, and digital documentation accurately.
Experience handling cash, customer payments, high-value goods, fragile items, or confidential documents is an advantage.
Previous experience in logistics, warehouse operations, e-commerce, FMCG, retail, courier, or distribution environments is an advantage.
Good knowledge of workplace health and safety procedures and safe manual handling practices.
Ability to remain calm and professional when dealing with traffic delays, difficult customers, failed deliveries, or unexpected operational issues.
Willingness to work flexible schedules, weekends, public holidays, early mornings, evenings, or overtime when required.
Professional appearance, integrity, responsibility, and strong work ethic.
